Need support taking your next steps? We’d love to help
The Yolanda Moore Foundation supports individuals with practical mentoring, advice and funding. We know that sometimes getting to where you need to be can be an uphill battle and we’d love to be a helping hand to ambitious young people. We also fund individuals who have an ambition to help others through voluntary work, charitable work, or who support others.
We fund both Personal Development Grants (to help you pay for short courses, internships, volunteering opportunities etc) and Personal Support Grants (to help you pay for your interview clothes, travel for a specific event, equipment, materials etc).
While the main part of our help is financial support, we also provide mentoring, advice, and networking opportunities with friends of our charity.
We do not fund subsistence, university fees, laptops or iPads, travel to school or university, rent or general living expenses – we want to support you with the things that can be seen as “extra” but will make all the difference to you moving forward with your personal and professional development.

FAQs
Am I eligible to apply?
If you meet our criteria, as shown above, you are eligible to apply. Please note that you must be aged 15 – 24 and live in one of the following areas: London, Dorset, Hampshire or Otago (New Zealand).
When will I hear the result of my application?
We aim to get back to applicants within two calendar months of their application. We will be in contact before we confirm the outcome of your application to let you know it has been received and in some cases, to ask for supplementary evidence.
When can I apply?
Anytime! If your application is successful you must use the funding within one calendar year.
Can someone else apply on my behalf?
In some cases, we can accept this. It’s best to contact us if this is the case to discuss it further.
How much funding can I get?
Donations to individuals will be limited to £1,000.00 in any 12-month period. (Variation to this will be at the discretion of the Board of Trustees).
What is supplementary evidence?
Supplementary evidence is a document, bill, receipt, letter or statement that we ask for in some cases to help support your application. This may be a proof of study letter, a receipt of purchase for equipment or similar. We will contact you with details of what we require when you submit your application.
What is an impact statement?
An impact statement is a short written letter or email from you telling us how the funding impacted your life. It helps us tell our funders how we’ve helped young people and is used in some of our marketing to share what our funding aims to help. We sometimes may ask for a photograph from you but this is subject to your permission (you can always say no!). We usually ask for this within six months of you receiving funding.
If you have any questions about the application process please get in touch (we’re a friendly bunch who are always happy to help).
